1. Describe in detail six poisonous snakes and the one poisonous lizard found in Australia. Demonstrate first aid treatment for snakebite.
2. Describe the main difference between each of the following:
a. Alligators and crocodiles b. Toads and frogs c. Salamanders and lizards d. Snakes and lizards
3. List the approximate number of species of reptiles and amphibians in Australia.
4. Explain the difference in life cycles of reptiles and amphibians.
5. Make sketches from field observations of six reptiles and three amphibians. Record their habits and the habitat where you found them.
6. Keep a non-poisonous reptile or amphibian for at least 1 month, making a log of data observed—such as food eaten, skin shedding, colour changes, and other habits. ( It may
be necessary to obtain a permit to keep a reptile or amphibian, contact Dept of Forests and Natural Resources for more information.)
7. Secure photographs that will identify two reptiles and one amphibian. Or give a talk to a small group about reptiles or amphibians, using pictures or living specimen.
8. Give three Scripture references that mention reptiles.
9. Explain the importance of insects as a food source for reptiles.
10. Give three Scripture references that mention insects.
